Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara ) born February 28 1948) is an American actress, singer and children's book writer. She has appeared in television, film as well as in musical theatre and solo shows, and also recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. The critically acknowledged as a Broadway performer she has won seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She was awarded three. Four of her Broadway album of cast on which she's starred have won Grammy Awards.



 



 Peters is widely recognized as the most well-known interpreter of the work of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
